This easy latte recipe takes only a few minutes to make, but evokes the seasonal flavor of gingerbread. Without any pricey special ingredients or syrups, you can make this a healthy latte or a more indulgent treat. You can even adapt it for special diets using the suggested substitutions! Always gluten free and grain free, you can make it refined sugar free, totally sugar free, dairy free, and more.
1 coffee maker (drip coffee machine, French press, etc.)
frother or blender (optional)
Ingredients
1/4- 1/3 C ground coffee
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tspground cinnamon
1/4tspground cloves
1/4 tspground nutmeg
molasses, honey, sugar, or sugar substitute to taste
cream, half and half, or milk to taste(see below for nondairy options)
Instructions
Measure coffee and spices into your French press or other coffee maker. Make coffee as you usually would.
Sweeten the coffee to taste, if desired. Up to one tablespoon molasses, honey, or sugar will work.
Add your desired dairy product to the coffee. This could be a tablespoon or two of cream or half and half, a larger quantity of heated milk, or nondairy milk.
If desired, froth the mixture with a frother or a blender. Serve right away!
