Healthy Ranch Dressing

Classic ranch dressing gets a healthy upgrade in this quick, simple recipe. Use gut friendly, probiotic rich dairy and ordinary kitchen staples to make this healthy ranch dressing for salad dressing, dips, and anything else you can think of. It takes only a few minutes and tastes better than store bought.

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 C milk kefir or buttermilk or thin yogurt or milk of choice
  • 1/2 C cultured cream or sour cream or thick yogurt or mayonnaise
  • 1 T apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried dill or 1 T fresh, chopped dill
  • 1 tsp dried parsley or 1 T fresh, chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp dried chives or 1 T fresh, chopped chives or green onions

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients and mix well using a whisk or immersion blender.
  • Adjust consistency as you prefer.
    For a thinner dressing, add more kefir, milk or water.
    For a thicker dressing, add more sour cream.
  • Adjust the seasoning, adding more herbs, salt, pepper, or vinegar to taste.
  • Serve right away or refrigerate, using within a week.
