Lavender Ice Cream

You need only 5 ingredients to concoct this lavender ice cream! Subtle, elegant, and not-too-sweet, this fairly healthy ice cream recipe requires no refined sugar and is naturally gluten free. Instructions for dairy free ice cream included!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 C cream
  • 2 C milk
  • 1/4- 1/2 C honey start low and increase to taste
  • 1 T culinary lavender buds
  • 1 T vanilla extract
  • dash salt

Instructions
 

  • Gently heat milk and lavender buds on stove. Simmer for a minute, then turn off heat and let cool. Stir in honey, vanilla, and salt while still warm. Chill well.
  • Strain lavender buds out of milk. Add milk and cream to the ice cream maker and process according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Scoop ice cream into a freezer container with a lid and store in freezer. Serve within 2-3 hours. If serving later, take out the the freezer 20 minutes or so before serving to allow the ice cream to soften.
