Equipment

  • 1 liter bottle with a tight top, such as a swing top bottle

Ingredients

  • 3-4 C pink iced tea (I used Simple Truth strawberry cherry tea)
  • 1/4 C lemon juice
  • 1/4 C sugar
  • 1/4 C whey

Instructions

  • Pour the sugar into the bottle, using a funnel for easiest results.
  • Pour in the lemon juice and the whey.
  • Fill the rest of the bottle with iced tea, leaving an inch of space at the top.
  • Keep the bottle at room temperature while the lemonade cultures. Open the top once a day to release the pressure that builds up and prevent any explosion!
  • After 2-3 days, put the bottle in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, shake gently to break up any lemon pulp that may have accumulated at the top, then open carefully and serve.
